Condition report:
Overall good original condition. Original frame with visible signs of age and use. The canvas is partially thin in areas, with minor paint losses.
The work was part of the Große Kunstausstellung at the Haus der Kunst in Munich in 1973. The reverse bears the original exhibition label.
The painting presents a clearly structured abstract composition with softly rounded, architecturally inspired forms. The calm palette of cool blue and grey tones is harmoniously balanced by warm earth and ochre hues, lending the work a timeless and harmonious presence.
Precisely placed lines and surfaces create subtle spatial depth and emphasize the balanced pictorial order. A restrained and confident work that convinces through clarity, calm, and formal consistency, making it ideally suited for a curated collection or a sophisticated interior.
It stands as a representative example of the abstract visual language found in the work of Helmut Rehme in the early 1970s.
