Cassina LC10-P Coffee Table, designed in 1929

Anyone with an interest in the classics of modern design will eventually encounter the LC10-P. Designed by Le Corbusier, Charlotte Perriand, and Pierre Jeanneret, it was first presented at the Salon d’Automne in Paris in 1929 and is now regarded as one of the defining furniture designs of the twentieth century.

The table is distinguished by the clarity of its construction: a square crystal glass top appears to float above a frame of lacquered steel and chrome-plated tubular steel. The uncommon grey-blue finish lends the piece a subtle individuality while remaining faithful to the original design.

Nearly a century after its introduction, the LC10-P remains remarkably contemporary. Perhaps that is the true quality of this design: it neither submits to its surroundings nor competes with them. It simply exists—effortless, precise, and timeless.
