Height-adjustable floor lamp with pull switch from the 1960s. Marked “Stiegler Marbach” on the base.
We were unable to attribute the lamp to a specific designer; however, we found it in issue no. 6 (September 1961, 69th year), pages 232/233, of the magazine Architektur und Wohnform – Innendekoration. The design can therefore be dated to the late 1950s to early 1960s — reflecting the classic formal language of the German postwar period and Mid-Century Modern.
The company Waldemar Stiegler in Marbach produced, among other things, the frames for the world-famous Barcelona Chair by Mies van der Rohe for Knoll International from 1954 to 1976.
The lamp is height-adjustable from 54.72 in to 62.60 in (139 cm to 159 cm).
Condition report
The wiring has been professionally renewed. Overall, normal age-related wear and signs of use are present. The lampshade is original to the period and shows age and wear; it is stained and partially discolored. Upon request, a new shade can be supplied with the lamp for an additional charge.
The lamp will be partially disassembled for shipping and requires assembly.
