Tulip dining table designed by one of the most famous designers and architects Eero Saarinen (1910-1961).
The Tulip table was designed around 1955-1957 and we believe that the version offered here was produced in the late 1960s/early 1970s. The table top is made of Botticino marble. Usually, the marble tops were made of Arbescato or Carrara marble. It can therefore be expected that this is a special production or small edition.
The polyester resin coating on the table top was professionally removed by the previous owner a few years ago. This has brought out the full beauty of the Botticino marble. The table top has a small “water stain” which is not visible in the overall structure and is only noticeable on closer inspection and when exposed to light. Otherwise, the table top has only slight signs of use. The base has been lacquered and shows minor stains and partial flaking of the lacquer. The wooden top, which is between the marble top and the base, has slight superficial damage. This is only visible when lying under the table and is therefore negligible.
Dimensions: diameter of table top 107cm, diameter of base 51.5cm, height to lower edge of table approx. 69.5cm.
