Emilio Greco (*11 October 1913 in Catania; † 5 April 1995 in Rome) was an important Italian sculptor, medallist, graphic artist, and draughtsman of the 20th century. He became particularly well known for his expressive figurative sculptures, in which the human body—especially the female figure—takes center stage. Greco’s works combine classical forms with modern sensibility and are characterized by elegance, tension, and refined line work. In addition to sculptures, he created numerous drawings, prints, and medals, leaving a lasting impact on the Italian art scene.
This expressive female nude impresses not only through its size and rarity—it is an embodiment of femininity, freedom, and elegance.
